Advisory Board

Mission Statement for Friends of Wood County CASA®:
The Friends of Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a nonprofit organization which lends support to the Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad litem Program through fund raising, promoting public awareness, and monitoring the fiscal and administrative needs of the organization.

Board members are expected to:

  • serve as a liaison between the Wood County CASA/GAL and the community
  • determine specific objectives of the Wood County CASA/GAL program
  • assist in the formulation and execution of programs to meet community needs
  • provide for the financial needs of the Wood County CASA/GAL by developing fundraising programs
  • attend regular and special meetings of the Board and its committees

Board members are asked to become actively involved in some or all of the following activities:

  • Public relations
  • Fund raising
  • Long-term program planning
  • Volunteer recruitment and recognition
  • Board member recruitment
  • Financial management
