Citizens Review Board (CRB) Overview

The Citizens Review Board (CRB) of Wood County was created in 1987 by Judge Robert C. Pollex. He recognized the need to carefully review decisions made that affect the lives of abused, neglected, and dependent children.

The CRB is authorized by the Ohio Revised Code to review child abuse, neglect, and dependency cases on behalf of the court. Members meet once a month for approximately two hours at the Juvenile Court to review cases.

Qualifications and Skills of a CRB Member

  • Must be able to be objective and confidential when dealing with cases

  • Must be able to ensure that the child’s best interests are represented

  • Must be able to respect and relate to individuals from various backgrounds and cultures in a sensitive and caring manner

  • Must be 21 years of age
